Just came up with a fun new game: Which isn't a Yes Lyric?
You post four nonsense phrases, three of which are from songs by Yes, and people try to figure out which isn't a Yes lyric. Whomever gets it right then posts four new phrases. everybody ready? Here are the first four:
1) History of the Future
2) Emotion Revealed As the Ocean Made
3) All I Need Is Your Forever
4) Hold Down the Window
Please don't just google them, that's be really lame.
Have fun,

Btw, back in the 70's, my friend and I were listening to the Close to the Edge album. His Mom walks in and listens to the music for a minute or two, and then she looks at us and asks: "are they singing in some kind of code?"
My buddy and I still laugh about that to this day.

I wonder what "rearrange your liver to the solid mental grace" really means then.
Is there a "Yes to English" dictionary available?

Wow... I'm down to number 1 or number 4!
Just can't commit.
On edit: I'll go with number 1. It makes a little too much sense to be a Yes lyric.

I stopped listening to Yes sometime in the early 80s, so while it's very easy for me to eliminate the ones that I know are Yes lyrics, it's less easy to pick the odd man out...and a little depressing actually to see that some of the newer lyrics must be just a little, well, banal, frankly. (I find this true of both Phalex's submissions and the OP's. Sigh... has Jon Anderson lost his mojo?) |
