Which isn't a Yes lyric?

Sign in to disble this ad
Just came up with a fun new game: Which isn't a Yes Lyric?

You post four nonsense phrases, three of which are from songs by Yes, and people try to figure out which isn't a Yes lyric. Whomever gets it right then posts four new phrases. everybody ready? Here are the first four:

1) History of the Future

2) Emotion Revealed As the Ocean Made

3) All I Need Is Your Forever

4) Hold Down the Window

Please don't just google them, that's be really lame.

Have fun,
c

I don't listen to Yes at all, though I did listen to the intro of Roundabout once.

My guess is C.

It's either 1 or 3, and since others have already voted 3, I'll take a chance and say 1 is not a Yes lyric. Do I win?

I apologize for this spoiler, but I just have to point out that I always thought that lyric was "Emotion Revealed As the Ocean Maid"

...not that it makes any more sense either way.

I wasn't sure either way.

And Deluge is really lucky.

Fun idea for a thread!

Btw, back in the 70's, my friend and I were listening to the Close to the Edge album. His Mom walks in and listens to the music for a minute or two, and then she looks at us and asks: "are they singing in some kind of code?"

My buddy and I still laugh about that to this day.

History of the Future is a lyric from Home World (The Ladder) and was a working title for Talk, btw.

Nah, just deductive. That one didn't sound as proggy/nerdy/D&D-esque as the others.

LOL!!

I wonder what "rearrange your liver to the solid mental grace" really means then.

Is there a "Yes to English" dictionary available?

1) I believe in eternity

2) Mountains come out of the sky and they stand there

3) The time between the notes relates the color to the scene

4) Right in the darkness none could destroy

Wow... I'm down to number 1 or number 4!

Just can't commit.

On edit: I'll go with number 1. It makes a little too much sense to be a Yes lyric.

I stopped listening to Yes sometime in the early 80s, so while it's very easy for me to eliminate the ones that I know are Yes lyrics, it's less easy to pick the odd man out...and a little depressing actually to see that some of the newer lyrics must be just a little, well, banal, frankly. (I find this true of both Phalex's submissions and the OP's. Sigh... has Jon Anderson lost his mojo?)

4.

1 is from 90125. Maybe "Hold On"?

2 Roundabout

3. Close to the Edge
