I got sick of iTunes and I'm not starting to switch to Songbird. I found out about it on Wikipedia.
Here are some things I liked about it:
# Cross-platform compatibility with Windows 2000, XP, Vista, Mac OS X (x86) and Linux (x86, x86_64)
# Ability to play multiple audio formats, such as MP3, AAC, Ogg Vorbis,
FLAC (impressive)and WMA
# Media files stored on pages viewed in the browser show up as playable files in Songbird
# Built-in RSS subscription and MP3 file download
# The ability to subscribe to MP3 blogs as playlists
# I can scrobble to last.fm with it.
# I can update my iPod with it
# It can handle podcasts
# Seems pretty stable.

It's like Foobar and iTunes mixed. Very customizable and everything it will even notify you of converts of your favorite artists in your area.
Downsides
- Scrobbling feature needs work
- Podcasting Features need work
