It's official...I love my bass

Without going into all the gory details, I'll just say that the current economy is kicking my butt. I was so close to pawning my bass yesterday that I unplugged it, took off the strap, and was almost out the door with it when I stopped, looked at it, and put it back on its stand. I couldn't do it. I never thought that I'd rather be broke than give up my bass, but it must be love...

It's just a cheap cream-colored Affinity P bass. It's not worth much to anybody else, but it's my baby and the first of many to come, if I have my way. I'll probably never get rid of it because this is the one that got me back playing again.

Yeah, I'm just trying to survive a little longer, then I won't have to worry about it. I've already been shopping around for a better amp...the waiting is killing me! The bass isn't bad for an Affinity, but my little practice amp sucks. I got to play through a decent rig a while back and what a difference! It's pure hell to have GAS and no money...

I <3 my bass too! I could never sell it. I'll be homeless carrying it on my back before I part with it.

I've got one of mine in hock right now. No shame in it, because you gotta do what you gotta do sometimes. I'd rather make sure I have things like electricity, water, gas in the car, and other necessities in life, more than an extra bass laying around. YMMV. Fortunately, I've got 2 others I can play.

Yeah, ya gotta do what ya gotta do, but that doesn't make it any easier. I don't have but the one, though, and I'd feel funny playing air bass for a week or so...

I bought my first bass while working. then I got laid off a month after I bought it. Now, almost four years later, I have 9 basses-along with other gear, and broke all the time, but can't seem to sell any of them. I just can't! Maybe in a few years, but not right now. Not ready. It's like an addiction. Can't give any of em up!
