This instrumental stuff is so awesome. Really expressive, with huge soundscapes. I love it. I am currently listening to El Ten Eleven. Just bass and drums, and I don't know how they do it, but it's awesome!

The bass player had a double necked Carvin (bass/guitar) and also played with a Wal and a good sized pedal board. Lot's of looping. Good stuff.
I like Red Sparowes, Mogwai, Sigur Ros and Godspeed You! Black Emperor.
The singer/pianist I play with made me a mix CD (she and I are both into a ton of different stuff) and one of the songs is by a post-rock group called The Samuel Jackson Five. I dig it, but it's the only thing I've heard from them. |

Check out This Will Destroy You and Russian Circles.
And I just bought a reverb pedal so I can make some of those soundscapes!

Make of it what you will, it's irrelevent to the actual music. It's just words some people use to talk about that music. |

on the heavier side, Isis, Cult of Luna
my pedal board includes the holy grail reverb, a DD-7 and a whammy
