Former band has concrete plans to record and do a van tour which I would love. It would be a somewhat ready made band that could be a lot of fun and could possibly get signed.
I left the band on good terms but somewhat irked at the treatment of a "fellow bandmate". He and I left simultaneously.
Without airing too much dirty laundry:
The "fellow bandmate" made a perceived "power play" to oust a founding member that; in my witnessing, was somewhat easily frustrated, talented but not driven to get better, and equiment challenged. I've been assured that "easily frustrated" is no longer a headcase (guitards

) due to the "fellow bandmate" no longer being in the band ("fellow bandmate" burned bridges, I didn't) and a lot of the turmoil has disappeared, been making breakthroughs and is becoming more invested and knowledgeable about his gear. I hold no ill will towards easily frustrated.
"Fellow bandmate" and I are actually in a different project that has yet to leave the ground. I concede that "fellow bandmate" may have been an instigator in some of the turmoil of the former band, but at the same time I value the friendship of "fellow bandmate" and I genuinely enjoy the music that we make ("former band has good music, but nothing I would consider my absolute favorite!!).
So I'm torn between possibly wrecking a good friendship and joining a possibly lucrative band.
Take into consideration that I have a wife, that although supportive, would probably rather I stayed here instead of go out on the road for any length of time. Note that I'm not interested in promiscuity.
What would you do?
