Just let me say that I am not a huge fan of country music, some of it isnt bad, but either way, I know what good country is and isnt.

In case no one saw, Taylor Swift, among a host of country LEGENDS(Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley, etc) was nominated for country music Entertainer of the Year award last night.

And won.

I think the space time contiuum might rip open and suck us all in....

What the hell......

Notice the category is "entertainer" of the year. Not musician. Not vocalist.

Girl can't sing for ****, but she's young, tall, blonde, thin, and fond of short skirts. Perfect recipe for an "award winning artist".

I really don't know that much about her and haven't heard any of her music. That said, will give her credit for this. It's pretty funny.

Kanye West was the best thing to ever happen to her.
She walked with a lot of stuff she shouldn't have just so they could make a point.

IMHO

I lost faith in humanity when I first heard country music, why did it take you this long?

Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Lester Flatts, Earl Shrugs, and a good deal of Merl Haggard, are examples of good country.

Garth Brooks is an example of bad country.

There was a thread just a few days ago about the Kanye West skit on SNL. I piped in that I thought she was terrible for country music. Lots of TB'ers promptly piled on in disagreement, essentially calling her God's gift to contemporary country/pop singing and songwriting. Oh, and let's not forget what a great role model she is to little girls everywhere ('cuz that's what makes me buy music and listen to it ). The Taylor Swift Fan Club will be along soon to reiterate their views I'm sure...

I'm not a fan of new hip hop, therefore I can't judge what is and what is not entertaining in the world of hip hop.

Please note that I'll hope in humanity was lost when "the Hof" became mainstream. That or when the fat boys broke up.

I just think her music is too poppy and mainstream to be considered true country.

I figure if millions of girls worldwide love her, she must be a horrible and super-lame.

That's also my thoughts on the Jonas Brothers, Twilight, etc...
