Just a note on the 20th anniveresary of the untimely death of one of mine and surely many's most influential players.
Was fortunate to have seen both in Weather Report at the Royal Oak, Theater back in 1977 or 78.
How uncanny is this? http://www.voanews.com/english/2007-09-12-voa1.cfm
If you have not read the book "Jaco", I highly recommend it.
Wonder what thier first re-united conversation will be like?

As I mentioned in a different RIP Zawinul thread...both are back together so it won't be a boring place.

Craig | When a person is 75, things can change pretty quickly.

I was also in the audience that night - 2nd row back from front balcony right.
I couldn't make sense out of Jaco that night. He seemed angry at the crowd or trying to prove he could play with more distortion than Ted Nugent, or something. I've never been abvle to figure that performance out. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
