Jaco Photo for Sale

Sign in to disble this ad
I saw this ad while reading yesterday's NY Times online.

From the ad

In this rare color photo from December 1975, an outtake from the 1976 "Jaco Pastorius" album cover photo sessions, Don Hunstein focuses on the spider-like dexterity of Jaco's left-hand on the fretless fingerboard of the artist's Fender bass. Jaco had removed the metal frets (which he called "speedbumps"), filled in the holes, sanded down the fingerboard and applied epoxy to prevent his Rotosound strings from cutting into the bare wood. The cubist and diagonal composition of Hunstein's photograph echoes the eloquence and virtuosity of Jaco's music.

This photograph is available signed by the photographer, Don Hunstein.

Pretty cool! I'd like a picture of Jaco for my new bedroom's wall, just not that one.

There was a picture of Jaco in a Fender ad way back in the day. I think the BassEmporium in Austin has it up on the wall as a poster.

Anyway, someone here was either selling a bass, or showing off pics of one and he had made a big transfer/silkscreen kind of thing out of that poster and put it on his case. I really want to do that.

I'd like to have a large good black and white pic of Jaco to put up on the wall in my music room. And I'd like to put a two foot tall pic Jaco on one of my bass cases.
