2. I think the statement that Jamerson's bass was "used on more recordings than any other bass" is a bit of a stretch and was pulled out of his hat. I'd argue that at least Joe Osborn's jazz appeared on more recordings as a total number.

I remember a dream where I found someone who had both the Funk Machine and the Bass of Doom up on the walls as decoration. I talked them into exchanging them for my Fenders.
It was a pretty good dream, although only slightly more likely than the one where I have a threesome with Lauren Graham and Alicia Witt.
