Jazz in Detroit

I'm going to be heading out to visit some friends in Detroit for Thanksgiving, and I was wondering if anybody knows of any good jazz clubs out there. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Bakers Keyboard Lounge on Livernois.

I'll be honest, I was a little worried to go because it was kind of in a shady part of town but I was pleasantly surprised.

Awesome food there if you are into down home/soul food. I got the pork chops with collard greens, mashed potatoes, corn bread, and peach cobbler and it was fantastic!!!

Yep, Bakers Keyboard Lounge on 8 mile and Livernois is a legendary venue. My friend went to another one-- I forgot what it was called but i'll get back to you.

Baker's is evidently less than a mile from where I'm staying, and I do love downhome/soul food!

...

So is Baker's the uncontested winner?

I'd say so. I will say, when looking at the calendar online, they have a bunch of names I've never heard before. But, I'd still check it out anyway. I believe cover was $5
