John Cage : As Slow As Possible

I find this a little bizarre, but fun to discuss:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/As_Slow_As_Possible

In a nutshell. The performance of this song started in 2001, an will end in 2640. It began with a 2 year "rest".

Think of the download time on that mp3

I'd like to hear your thoughts.

Kinda cool. Buy why?
And the pause at the beginning that lasted a year and a half is totally cheating.

The original version for organ lasted 20 mins, so that "pause" was probably really only a few beats.

This reminds me of a post in another John Cage related thread:

It is the day of the test, the students have shown up with their pens and their bottles of Advil. The professor passes out the final: The one question is "Why?"
When the dust had settled, there was one student who got an A+.
His answer?
"Why Not"

wouldn't it be great if an altar boy accidentally fell on the organ an then they'd have to start all over again...

John Cage is a strange strange man.

His 4:33 seems stranger to me though.
