Wow, good stuff. Not anything like his first two albums. Very mellow and bluesy, bit of an Americana sound. Delicious basslines to boot.

It's a broad genre, basically "classical American". Mix of folk/blues/early roots rock.

Cool. I didn't know that Pino did the bass work on that recording.

Someone told that John played bass on that album.

There's a recording of "I Don't Trust Myself" on the MySpace page of the Jazz Trio I play in. Please let me know what you think.

I wasn't really familiar with John Mayer until I learned this tune. I didn't love his music at first, but it began to grow on me over time.
