I thought about ordering some stuff from Musician's Friend to take advantage of the 4th of July sale. Most manufacturers are excluded from this deal. What's up with this deal?

Actually, I've taken a 15% off coupon to GC and bought excluded items using it. I think the problem is they can't advertise prices lower than MAP on many items, so they have to say they're excluded. If you call MF to order, they might let you use it anyway. No guarantees.

Guitar centers "4thsave" online sales coupon doesn't apply to used gear. My friend tried getting an interface and they wouldn't let him use it. Granted he was basically getting the thing for a steal, 700 dollar interface for 370

Read the fine print....

If the coupon code does not work, they tell you call so they can "make sure you leave with your gear".

I bought my Geddy that way during the President's Day sale, and today, I bought an Orange guitar amp and cabinet.

You just have to call. There may well be certain brands that are excluded, but I am batting 2 for 2. Well worth a free phone call.

give them a call. I did this morning. I was looking at a Fender American standard Precision V. Of course the coupon code didn't apply. But when I called them, they offered 15% off.
