It looks like her other ones to me.

She does know how to write a song that sticks in my head forever though.

She needs to be in a creepy sci-fi movie like Bowie or Sting.

Gaga is the first big pop act I've really loved in years. Combining the sex-appeal of wealth and celebrity with the grotesque (reminds me of the late Decadents) is pretty damn timely IMO. She's got some decent artistic insight wrapped up in those dance songs of hers.

Yea, she's pretty legit.

I think she's also a VERY SMART woman.

I compare her to Bowie in business sense. Like there's a bunch going around about Gaga being a Transvestite, and it's grabbing peoples attention! The same way Bowie lead everyone to think he was gay.

Smart Smart Smart.

Well put. I don't know who is responsible for the look and feel of this video but IMHO it's killer.

I must say these responses are a surprise despite the video being good.

I mentioned something about Gaga being good on another music forum, one filled with teenager rockers that always whine about "posers" and "selling out" etc., and surprisingly there seemed to be pretty wide-spread love of Lady Gaga there despite the usual pop-music hate.

I've been really surprised at how much I've seen TB condemn her as they're usually open minded about musical genres and the realities of the popular music business.

1)Young woman writing her own music
2)Using this music as a platform for artistic commentary on the modern culture of celebrity and fame (aka--she has a point behind her image)
3)Being well-aware of the tradition in which she is performing and invoking that tradition--Bowie, Madonna, etc.

Of course, a lot of it could be great producers rather than a single woman, but the same thing is true of a lot of "authentic" musical figures we've come to worship over the years. Doesn't really detract from her as an artist in my mind.

Music aside, and I'll admit that I haven't given it a fair shake, the video is visually striking and full of T&A. There's something Kubrickian about it. I can't seem to look away whenever it's on.

I'm really a metal type guy with some fusion jazz and prog rock, but hell the girl makes good pop music, I can't deny it. It sounds good, it looks good. Hell, she writes here stuff, she created the "Lady Gaga look/sbuculture" Major props to her. I think she might be one of the greats of the pop scene.

I don't understand a single thing about what I just watched. Well, aside from the scantily clad parts, anyway.

Must not be aimed at me. It was visually striking, but I can't figure out how and where I was struck.

I love this song, even though it isn't a genre I'm typically into.
The last 5 seconds of the video are hilarious.

I know nothing about her really, but if the above is true, then it would give me a lot of respect for her. Much more so if I knew how much of the artistic direction she provides in her videos. For pop stars like this, I don't usually look at their music as the thrust of what they do, but rather everything that's wrapped up in their artistic expression. I'm sure there are still 1000's of people involved in pulling a video/song like this together, and that's okay. If it were to come out that she's just the figure head following orders though, I'd quickly forget about her. If she's anywhere near the top making artistic decisions on this stuff, then cool.

She really writes her own stuff? One of the things I've always told my kids in regard to really poppy music is that there's a pretty good chance that the person singing the song had nothing to do with writing it, making up the melody, or anything else in regard to the creative process. They might pick the song from a set of songs given to them by producers but all they do is sing the thing.

Is there evidence that Lady Gaga actually writes her own music? If so then I have a new found respect for her.

Actually, the video is quite visually stunning, and rather eye catching. The music, well, it's Lady Gaga, so you know your going to have the damn thing stuck in your head for the next five days straight. But quite impressive none the less.

Wish I had that amount of talent, imagination, and gumption to do something like that.
