Just ordered a Jodavi Snap Jack cable

Saw it inn the latest BassPlayer and thought it looked like a great idea. I've done a search on here but found no info from anyone who owns one.

It was us$69 direct from their site for a 20foot cable with one straigh end and one 90 degree. I probably could've found it a little cheaper somewhere else but a lot of major mail order places won't ship to NZ.

So I'll post a review when it shows up. In the mean time, does anyone own one of these yet?

Joe

Not me, but count me as curious.

I'd really appreciate it if you would post your thoughts/review when you get it.

Will do. I emailed them to change my delivery address. I forgot to change the country from the US on the online order form. That was early yesterday.

Still no email back from them. A little frustrating.

An update on the situation.

I put the right address but the wrong country on the online order form so I promptly emailed them to tell them it would need changing.

No email from them for 5 days!! I've just sent another email now so hopefully I get a reply soon.

Pretty average customer service from these guys, I think. I'll post here again if it turns up.

It's an interesting idea, from an engineering standpoint, but from a musician standpoint, I don't like it. I'd much rather have a long instrument cable, and loop it through my strap. That way, if I step on my own cable, I can feel it, and move. With the Snap Jack, by the time I feel it, my bass is already disconnected, and I have to scramble to grab the cable and put it back.

At least it just seems that way.

Update: I received an email from Jodavi and it's on its way to NZ

Farva, i understand what you mean. I think it's a very interesting idea but time will tell how practical it is. I figured I'd be the guinea pig on here cause as far as I know, no one else here has one yet.

Got it and it's brilliant. Sounds great, the way a high end cable should.

The magnets are surprisingly strong when pulled straight away from each other.

If I stepped on the cable it would still require a lot of force to break the connection; the amount that would most likely damage the cable or input jack on a regular cable.

So far I can see absolutely no reason not to like these cables. Of course I'll post if my opinion changes.

I would happily recommend a Snap Jack cable to anyone.
