Just saw Jeff and Rhonda; You must see it.

I saw Jeff Beck with his new band last night in Sydney. Just Brilliant. The musicianship displayed, by everyone in the band, was absolutely amazing. The drummer was (I'm embarrassed, I've forgotten his name, sorry) unbelievably powerful and in control...not missing a beat. His two kick drums and two snares were used to devastating effect.
Rhonda is so funky and sexy, she owns her position. I had to force myself to stop staring at her. What a bass player..a must see.
Jeff, I'm sure you all know already, is a master. Few guitarists have that level of control over their instrument. Seemingly effortless, almost (if not) classical melodies..incredibly beautiful player.
In a class of their own..You must not miss this one..

My friend was lucky enough to see them when they where here in NY. He had basically the same response. I really wish I could have seen it.

If concert tickets didn't cost as much as a month of gasoline, I would go myself.

^^^I don't go to very many concerts, but when a legend like Jeff is playing, you can't not go. I saw Stanley Clarke, George Duke, Chick Corea, John Mclaughlin etc. last year.
I go to fewer concerts, but I'm fussier about who I see.
And yes, the best ones are expensive. Damn good shows though.

^^^^Thankyou Lorenzini. Yes, he most certainly is. I've seen some of the best, but he really impressed me. He came close to stealing the show, at times. I'd give my right nut to play with a drummer like that.

i saw him also in sydney.great awesome show but imo not as good as the 2009 tour with tal and vinnie. the stage chemistry wasn't there with rhonda the way it was with tal and also she wasn't coming through in the mix anywhere near tal(that may have been because i was in the 4th row. may have sounded different further back in 2009 i was at the front of the balcony).tal layed down some phenominal bass lines and on top seemed to be providing alot of inspiration for jeff(and me) where rhonda was just being a great "funk" bass player.i also thought the keyboard player was lacking and looked out of place too.

all in all, i'm glad i saw them both but they were different shows while still being great..

Hey George, you were at the Enmore too?? The 4th row would have been great; closer to Jeff and Rhonda. I was in the 11th row. I would run away with Rhonda and have all her babies.....man, she is da bomb . Did you see how she was using 3 Mesa quads? What basses was she playing? They looked like Fender Js from my seat????
