Take the time to let it heal properly. You'll be back up and running before you know it.

No offence, but.....
Suck it up and adapt.

I had my middle finger, right hand, damaged once, on a Thursday morning. Had a gig that ran Friday night, Sat. aft. and again that night. I had to adapt by using my first and ring fingers to play. I swear, I don't know how many people in the audience thought I was giving them the bird, but I made it through.
If you don't need to play, then yes, let it heal.

Not as bad as CTS, though. Now that sucks. Couldn't play for six months.

Work on right-hand technique.
Maybe record hitting 1/8 notes on (muted) open strings with 2 or 3 fingers and see how consistent you can make them sound?
Just a thought.

Partial finger loss at work.

^^^lol!

Looks like the tape is too tight- your finger is red and smushed. It should be just tight enough to keep the splint in place. you have to allow space for the swelling. Are you sure you didn't injure your index finger as well? It looks awfully swollen.

Make sure you ice, elevate, and take advil/aleve for pain and to help with the inflammation. Do not use it if at all possible, but try to get the splint off as soon as it's feeling better or that finger is going to tighten up on you.

I'm not a dr. but i've been a medic forever and have broken a couple fingers myself.

That sucks man, but yeah allow the proper amount of time to properly heal. It will work out better in the long run.
