i was looking for some flea solos because i was bored.

and i came across this guy. he is a bassist from canada, he uses alot of effects and stuff but he is good. it is kind of long but i thought it was worth it.

Indeed, very impressive. Lacked direction in some parts (mainly in the first half) but overall a superb show. Better than anything I could do.

he must be revered as a god at the guitar store...

great technique, but the composition of the whole song didn't really go anywhere...kinda reminds me of listening to yngwie malmsteen solo...technically impressive, but it all sounds the same after 2-3 minutes...in this case it was fret-meltingly fast slapping.

but still, propsto him for playing bass at a telent show...get the bass out in public

avast maties, here thar be spoilers

i thought it was pretty cool as a technique demo if nothing else (great bass face too)...

looping yourself and laying a melody on top? CHECK!
obligatory turbo-slapping to get the crowd horny? CHECK!
palm-rubbing solo? CHECK!
wanktapping? CHECK!
scratching on the bass? CHECK!
sliding from sugarhill gang into AC/DC? CHECK! (the best part)
playing the bass like a pedal steel (avec harmonique)? CHECK!
finishing off with stairway to heaven? CHECK!

whats not to like? cut the kid some slack (and admire his fro)...he will be a master in a few years (after he works up the super mario solo)

Yep that kid has talent, I especially liked the playing with his thumb like a pick technique, cool stuff.

This guy used to play with my friends' band, he's pretty damn talented. I enjoyed it.

Exactly.

I liked it. Was there wankery, sure! I think it was more Satriania style than Ynygwie.
