Katy Perry concert, should I go?

Sign in to disble this ad
The company I work for gave me for free two tickets for Katy Perry concert next Sunday, I don't give a **** about her but my seven year daughter wants to go, it would be great to take my little princess for her first concert but I am little worry about the show, have any of you been in one of her concerts , if so, is it appropriate for a seven year old kid?

Probably not. They had to edit out scenes from her Sesame Street episode so I imagine her live show will be full of things you probably don't want her to see.

Thanks for the head up, you are correct, I dont expose my daughter to visual crap, bad music is enough ... I am going to try to sell the tickets, the price said 60 each so it is good money.

+1. Check YouTube for some videos. You won't want to take your little girl at all.

This, take me instead, I'll supply the noise canceling headphones.

I'd take her. I doubt it'd be a bad concert. KP actually has some good songs.

The one in Grand Rapids? A friend of mine is going. I'd love to go- her music is catchy, and I bet she's got one heck of a live show. However, I'm going to a Mark Schultz concert that day (he's a Christian Contemporary artist) remembering the tragedy that is 9/11/01, 10 years later.

Kind of an interesting contrast- Katy and her party antics, and a 9/11/01 remembrance concert. Both will be a good time, I'm sure. Looking forward to Mark Schultz.

+1 to not taking your daughter.

No, I would NOT take my kids to see her. I didn't pay much attention to the NWOADS (New Wave Of American Diva Sluts) until my 4 year old started singing about kissing girls and menage a tois in the supermarket. My kids asked me if they could brush their teeth with a bottle of Jack. Wha wha wha!?!

I try not to censor my kids the way my parents censored me, but dammit, I had to draw the line on that one.

That's when I realized, all of these little pop divas are singing about being a whore! That's all fine and good for the girls in the club, but not for my kids! Same goes for that walking smut rag, Ke$ha. Any time that bimbo comes on the radio, we switch over to one of daddy's stations.

It's a 7 year-old girl and a modern-day burlesque show...so I'd say no.

+100 don't take her. And I busted out loud about the bottle of jack comment, although it's not really funny.

Why the hate on Ke$ha? I like that Tik Tok song, at least when Lisa Simpson covered it! The Simpsons Intro - Kesha Tick Tock - Tic Toc - Tik Tok - YouTube
