If the cab has a tweeter, try it out and hear how it sounds. If there's no tweet, you won't get much highs. I'd just try it.

Hi.

Yes, You can.

Will it work well, probably not with any significant volume.

For noodling around and/or practising it can work.

Watch out for the low end, a KBD signal goes lower and the fundamental frequency is more prominent than in an average stringed instrument. Use Your ears and your cab will survive.

If You have a synth, be extra careful with those meaty low rumbles .

Regards
Sam

I used what I guess is technically a PA head and PA speakers for both my keys and my bass. It's a peavy 12" with a horn (2 of them), and it doesn't sound half bad for either. I don't know much about technical specifications, and based on stuff I've heard before,I'd say it sounds a little muddy. But its definitely doable, even for jamming and is way more volume than I need- I just take it easy on the volume. If it sound crappy, I turn down- nuff said.

I notice a fair amount of amps being advertised as either keyboard or bass, so I guess they can't be that far off.

Yeah i thought they were pretty similair amps, its just for home practice i can get a yamaha keyboard for 30$ and though i could use my old rig as a keyboard rig. Maybe EQ it differently.

I do this with my 65 watt amp and it works great. I just put the EQ's in the middle.

Back in the days before dedicated keyboard amps, keys players often used bass combos, like the Peavey Bass (300W 115 w/tweeter). It's no problem.

If you really look at the electronics for keyboard amps, you find that they pretty much are (most of the time) a repackaged bass amp. The only problem I have ever encountered is that the volume can be a bit low unless its plugged into a "Boost" circuit (+15db).
