Keyboard Question!!!!!!

Sign in to disble this ad
I asked for suggestions on keyboard brands awhile back. At the time I wasn't real sure what I wanted but I'm starting to narrow it down.

My big question today:

Would buying a Kurzweil K2600 be a good investment? They are quite expensive and everyone I've talked to at GC says I would be better off going with something from Yamaha or Roland. Are they just saying that because they don't carry Kurzweil anymore and they only care about making a sale? Or are those brands really that much better than Kurzweil these days?

It kinda makes me that much more interested in Kurzweil, because it sounds like everyone is using Roland or Yamaha, (and of course Korg) and I personally want something more original.

What do you guys/gals think about Kurzweil? And should I go for a K2600? Maybe a PC2X

I would check out every Roland makes in the price range you are looking for. I've purchased many Rolands over the years and they sound fantastic and are built to take it. For instance I purchased 27 XP-30's for a middle school music lab. We used those keyboards every day for 7 years and only one had to go into the shop (power supply went out).

Give Roland a serious try.

Thumbs up

I've had my Kurzweil K2500X since 1998 and it will always be the centerpiece of my studio.

Kurzweil workstations have the most intuitive operation/navigation systems out there.

The sounds are pretty good too.

I'd definitely grab a K2600.
You won't regret it.
Feel free to P.M. me with specific questions.

Kurzweil rocks. Ignore the GC stooge and go with your own ears.

There's nothing wrong with the Yamaha and Roland boards, and Korg for that matter, but if you've got your heart set on the Kurzweil go for it.

How much are those two Kurzweil models going for nowadays?
