Kinda reminds me of when I'd be doing soundchecks and our drummer wasn't around. I'd get back on the drum kit and pound out four on the floor on the kick while playing my bass at the same time... so they could get the blend dialed-in. The rest of the band thought it was funny as hell, but it worked.
And boy was it tight!
