Anyone get a chance to see King's X last night @ the Blender theater in NYC? Amazing show...they played "Lost in Germany" which hasn't been on the set list in years. Enjoy the pics.

Cool stuff. Didn't know Ty was growing his hair long again. I'd like to see them one day in a smaller venue gig. The only time I saw them was back in 2002 opening for Satch and Dream Theater, they only played for about 20 minutes.

What other songs were in the setlist?

They were supposed to play my hometown (Southbridge, MA) last Saturday, but the show got "postponed". I was more than a little pissed.

Glad you had a good time. great pics. where's DuG's 12 string?

He played the 12 string, but mostly the 4 string for the majority of the show. He never fails to impress the hell out of me, my god, his tone is always spot on.

I saw them in the mid nineties at Toad's Place in New Haven. Smallish club. Loud as hell. Dug smashed one of his basses and gave it to an audience member.

It looks to me like Dug needs a sandwich and a Kit-Kat!

Dang, just my luck...not coming anywhere near here. I think I've seen the last 2 or 3 tours and it's my luck that I miss the tour where he brings out the 12 string.

I was at the show last night - Awesome! They sound better than ever. and TIGHT. Dug might just have the greatest tone I've ever heard. thanks for posting the pics..

I also saw them the night before on LI and it was just as good.

at that show Dug was having some problems with his new bass though - the E (or probably a C with how low they tune!) string kept coming up off the bridge saddle, and he announced to the crowd that the new bass was giving him problems, and kept reiterating, "it's a DEAN bass.. a DEAN.." lol

Dug looks like a scarecrow in a few of those shots. I hope he's in good health... I'm sure they sounded great!

I was pissed I missed the show on LI, but I'm not a fan of the Crazy Donkey to begin with. I was so lucky I just happened to be browsing ticketmaster yesterday and saw they were playing. I bought a ticket yesterday afternoon last minute...so worth it.

Lucky bastard! Thanks for sharing the pics, though.

Last saw them here in Tulsa in 2002 at a small club. Great show.

By the way...as you can see from the third photo, Doug's only pedal now is a Boss tuner.

This photo was taken years ago when he still used a few pedals.

I've seen them twice in the last three months. They came thru a few months ago opening for Extreme

I left early and met Dug in the parking lot. I saw them again last Wed. at the same venue. They put on a great show.

Doug has to be one of the nicest guys I've ever met. I was talking to him after the show....I walked up and asked him about how he gets his awesome tone. He got up and hugged me and said "Finally!...a F****** bass player!"

He spent 10 minutes telling me in detail about his rig and tone.

His Tuner pedal actually kicks in the distortion rig he uses (he runs 2 separate channels through the pedal).

I LOVE Ty Tabor's guitar tone, chording, solos, etc. That guy is freakin' AMAZING, too.

Are you sure about the tuner pedal? I didn't see him step on it once, he basically had the same tone all night.
I know he runs two seperate setups to get his tone and keep the low end, but I wasn't aware of the tuner serving that purpose. Interesting, though.

Probably due to the weather. We were approached to open for them at the Mill but couldn't do it.
