Let's talk KISS.

- New album and tour this year.
- What do you think the chances are for an Ace or Peter Criss song on this album? It seems that Gene and Paul are all about staying consistent with Thayer and Singer for this CD, which is fine, but I want to see a CD full of former members playing.
- What do you think are the chances of a massive record-breaking New York show?
- Can the new CD sound as heavy as Revenge or Creatures?
- Most of us can say at this point that Singer has surpassed Criss, but Thayer > Frehley?
- Don't forget to sign up as a Talk Bass KISS Army Member.

Gene and Paul do not want to share the spotlight with anyone else and if Ace came back, they would lose a part of what little attention they get now. Thayer cannot play Ace's licks thus will not take Gene and Paul's limelight. Criss and Ace won't do Kiss again.

Excellent taste. KISS, Destroyer, Dynasty, and Creatures are all my favorites. If I had to add another and make it a top 5, I would pick Love Gun by a mile.

I'd probably do the same! To be honest, I actually rank Asylum and Crazy Nights up there as well. They might go 6 and 7.

I'd like a number please.

Here's a recent pic of me, by Michael Zampelli AKA Rink Rat. Note Kiss Army pendent, and just signed by Gene 8-track.

I just gave Sure Know Something a try on bass. It's most definitely underrated.

I gave trying to predict the quality of in-production albums long ago.

Any more I just ignore them until they're actually out and then give 'em a listen and judge from there. Anything more and it's almost always a let-down based on hype and perception of what could/should be vs what actually gets recorded.

Who's going to play bass on this album? I'm guessing not Gene.

I'm guessing it will be him, as it's a shotgun recording session. The songs are going to be quick and dirty, which fits Gene's playing style.

Very funky song. One of my fave KISS songs, actually.

It seems that Kiss is coming to my country next month, ten days before Motörhead. Having to pay not only the admission but bus tickets (9-hour trip) plus food and a place to rest before/after the concert, I must choose just one. No doubt about it if this were 1980, but without Ace, Kiss is not that attractive to me. Anyway, I have all of their official audio releases (minus a couple unnecessary compilations), still interested in their new stuff (if any), and I was a huge Kiss freak during my teenage years, when nobody knew their faces and they were like superheroes. You can't imagine how I regret not being able to be present here, for instance. I almost fainted when Paul introduced Ace and Peter on the MTV unplugged concert. I think I qualify as a member of the Kiss Army.

My Kiss top 5:

- Alive!
- Destroyer
- Love Gun
- Kiss (first album)
- Creatures Of The Night

Special mention for "Revenge" and "The Elder". You heard right. I don't hate it. I enjoyed it a lot when it was released, maybe because I didn't mind about Kiss trying to be like Pink Floyd. I only enjoyed the songs and that was enough for me. Have you heard "The Oath", "Dark Light" and "Escape From The Island"? (The latter two courtesy of Ace. I'm truly an Ace fan). BTW, Bob Ezrin recorded the bass track for "Escape From The Island" and I must say it's one of my favorite pick bass tones on record.

I'd also include "Alive II" since I also rocked it a lot, but I will never understand why being them at the top of their popularity, with a way bigger budget for their stage show, they didn't release a better-sounding live album (compared with "Alive!"). Not talking about the performances, just that I don't like the overall album EQ.

I should be a member cuz my mom took me to the Alive II tour 1978 in Providence RI when I was 11 years old.
I've seen Kiss six or seven times, and almost hit Gene with my van in 1994. (He was J walking/crossing Hollywood Blvd. dressed in black leather at night and I didn't see him"

Exactly. Again, if Ace were still with Kiss, I'd be still scratching my head trying to decide.
