Lamb of God is pile-drivingly heavy.

I want Chris Adler to play drums in my band.

Not a bad band at all.

Check out Nights Like These. They still aren't the heaviest out there, but they are heavier than Lamb of God, as far as I'm concerned.

They may be heavier but they don't have the technical skill nor the song writing skill of Lamb of God. That video was very generic. Lamb of God really stands out in the genre because of those things.

I saw LOG in july... Hatebreed, Behemoth, and 3 Inches of Blood also played...

Randy messed up the intro to Omerta. It was pretty funny...

Hatebreed had a circle pit going around the sound booth (It was outdoors at a local park...)

LOG sounded like crap, though. The sound guy forgot that Randy was even there, and Chris' toms were nowhere to be found.

Not my thing. And I'm a metal guy. Of all the extreme metal bands out there with atrocious excuses for vocal styling they are among the very worst. Blythe really sounds like he's gagging on his own blood. I can't get past that to pay close attention to the instruments.

The production on "New American Gospel" was terrible though. Too scooped and tin can drums.

I know a guy who knows some of the guys in that band well. He said THEY don't even like Randy, but he's popular with those that follow the band so they haven't kicked him out yet.

The bassist plays nice basses though!

That's hardly a secret, if you have seen any of their DVD's they are pretty open about their feelings. Hell, one of the guys knocks Randy out cold in a drunken fist fight in the Killedelphia DVD.

+1...I'm with you man...I can't get past the horrible vocals long enough to even listen to the band...and I feel that way about 99% of the bands in this genre...

Metal bands shouldn't get along.

That guys vocals are crazy, though. Very few can actually make that screaming style musical.

Yeah, they definitely aren't for everyone, but I was just speaking to the "Lamb of God is pile-drivingly heavy" comment.

Plus, if every band was striving to be as technical as possible, we'd have thousands of Dream Theatres, and that would be a travesty (not because DT is bad, but because not all music should be that way).

As far as the video, LOG doesn't come up with all their video ideas. It all comes down to money. LOG is more popular and is on a label that will/can spend more money to hire video directors with ideas.

One last thought, I could be wrong, but give Nights Like These one or two more albums, and I'm pretty sure they will produce an album that will make a huge stamp on "the genre."
