Laptop spec, any good for running Cubase etc ?

Sign in to disble this ad
I have been offered a Laptop (no, not an apple) by my brother, mainly for running my music software. I will be using it with SX3 (couldn't afford Cubase 4) I have a VSTs galore thanks to my studio friend, namely Native Instrument ones. I also recently got EZ drummer for all my drumming needs, my current machine struggles to even run it as a VST instrument in Cubase. So, I understand that it will be quite intensive on the CPU, but my question is how much ? It is a 2.8Ghz P4 (not a mobile one) and has 1 GB DDR. So, how should it run ?
