My peeps, whazup?!! Still in Europe. All of the gigs went great, and the label is chuffed about how well things went. Well, last Thursday, the people from the Later with Jools Holland show got the cd and wanted Anthony David to perform on the show, but they wanted him to do the title track. At first we thought they were winding us up, but then we found out that everything's on the level. Well, that song is not acoustic friendly, so your friendly neighborhood rodent has to play bass on a nationally televised tv show with about 4 millions viewers! Poor me! I don't have a bass over here, so Stu's lending me one of his, and an amp company is giving me an amp. Apparently, being on this show is like being on Leno. We tape it Tuesday, but it will air on Dec. 1st. Also, the Red Hot Chili Peppers will be on the show with us, along with Thom Yorke and Keane. Well, gotta go, London calling. Oh yeah, flying in from Paris to London was EASILY the worst flight EVER!!!!!!! The wind was so bad, that the plane was literally slanted sideways about 5 seconds before we touched down!

Well done dude.
Also welcome to the dismal UK weather. I dislike winter greatly.

A friend of mine played bass with Terry Callier on the show and he said the only thing to watch out for is Jools himself - so at the last minute he inisisted that their regular keyboard player drop out and that he (Jools) sat in with the band - which really put rest of the band off!
But he seems to do less of this nowadays as he is involved with interviews etc.

Later is a great show... you should be proud. I'll keep an eye out for it.
A friend of mine played the new year show a few years back, and ended up in a jam with Van Morrison, Bryan Ferry, Ron Wood and a fair few more. He had a blast. |

I love "Later", one of my favorite shows, always great performances (one of the reasons it's worth the extra money for digital cable service), but I have no idea on the turnaround time from when it's broadcast in the UK until it shows up on the US channel. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
