Back in Black - AC/DC
Killers - Iron Maiden
Piece of Mind - Iron Maiden
Paranoid - Black Sabbath

The first ones I learned back in '84 when I first started playing bass. You can hear certain themes of the album and what they were thinking/writing at the time.

As for now, I still learn complete albums, to broaden the musical pallette.

Not yet but sounds like a fun challenge, maybe we can do a album of the month and help each other out. It would be cool to learn an album with some other people.

A couple of hundred actually. If you're not going to spend 6 years in a conservatory, that's what you have to do if you want to be really good.

Learning whole albums is how I keep in shape since retiring from regular gigging a year or two ago (I'm 60!). I pick one of my favorite all-time albums and go for it.

Last one learned:Pink Floyd, Dark Side of the Moon.

Currently working on: Jimi Hendrix, Electric Ladyland.

Next up: Jefferson Airplane, After Bathing at Baxters.

When I started out I learnt 'boys don't cry' the cure and 'dark side of the moon' pink Floyd. I play (double) bass along to a whole lot of different albums for practice and ear training, sometimes stuff I have never heard before.
