Lennon vs. McCartney Vs. Jagger: Who was the better singer?

Sign in to disble this ad
Lennon, Mccartney or Jagger?

Three great singers...who did you think was the best?

Today i think Mccartney is better then Jagger in the old age as they are in now...

Mccartney sang better then both George Michael and Bono on Live 8. For a year ago.

Pure singing ability...McCartney by a WIDE margin. All three are great when you ad it all up though.

Ok, I'll say it stronger:

McCartney - no contest.

[Mickie J can be given points as a Performer, but as a singer alone, he's not even in the same League as Sir Paul. Sorry.]

John Lennon's voice is the one I like the most, specially because it's the most distinctive to me, but McCartney is definitely the most skilled and versatile singer of the three. In fact, IIRC, John wrote "A Hard Day's Night" and he was supposed to sing it (a clue to know who wrote what in most of The Beatles' catalog) but he had to ask Paul so sing the "When I'm home..." section because it was so high for him.

McCartney, hands down. Better range, better tone, better sense of overall melody. Jagger wins if you consider strutting and stage performance alone, but vocally, he's pretty limited. Lennon had a great rock and roll voice, but again, he didn't come close to McCartney's range.

I much prefer the Stones over the Beatles. However, Sir Paul is the better singer.

Thanks. I can't resist the opportunity to present the general consensus opinion of pop-music critics as my own insight when the situation presents itself.

And you think the world would have had enough of cheesy love songs, but they buy his records and they prove it isn't so, oh no!

Sir Paul, Is the best singer of that trio by far. He has a great voice, great range, a signature sound and the ability to get gnarly when needed.
