Leo Fender research project

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys, I'm asking for some help.
I'm in highschool and in my marketing class we need to do a research paper on an entrepreneur and I decided to do Leo Fender. I figured I'd at least make it interesting to do my homework this time. We need one internet article and one magazine/newspaper/book article about our entrepreneur. I found a couple good internet articles but I'm wondering where I can find an article about him in a book or magazine. If worse comes to worse I may just buy a book online that has info on Leo Fender. It wouldn't go to waste because I'm sure I'd read it cover to cover regardless if it's for school or not. So, I'm wondering if anyone can help me out here. Does anyone know any books or magazines I can find that have information on Leo Fender? Any help is appreciated.

Do a seach for "Leo Fender" on www.amazon.com. You'll get a bunch of books to choose from.

Good luck on you paper. You've picked a great topic.

Thanks for the advice. I'm hoping I won't have to resort to actually buying a book though. But in case I do any suggestions?

Talk to a few folks who have been in the industry for a while, you can get some great personal glimpses of the man that aren't part of the published history. For example, his widow mentioned that he had a micrometer hanging out of his pocket at their ceremony, and took his tools along on the honeymoon to get some work done (that he was a work-aholic is well known, though).

It may help your research to know that Leo was his middle name, but Clarence was his first. That is why the company before G&L was CLF Enterprises, and why the current G&L serial numbers start with CLF. You can probably guess why he chose to use his middle name most of the time...

Good luck on your research on a great man.
