Maybe it's just me, maybe it's the recent rash of Gene $immons love/hate, maybe it's the ad nauseam discussions on wattage or genre bashing, maybe it's the opinion-as-fact mentality of some the more vocal members, but TB was more of a resource of what's new, helping others and supporting the bass playing community at large pre-2011.

There are a lot of GREAT people with TONS of useful knowledge but, to me, they're getting lost in the shuffle.

As for me, I'm going to simply avoid the polarizing threads and probably come here less often, mostly lurk. It's a little disheartening.

We'll miss you.

Seriously, you're right. More members means more repetition, dumb opinions, errors, grammatical atrocities, etc.

But there is still wisdom here. Keep the faith!

But what's the best bass for metal!...................OK seriously though. I've misspelled more than a few words but I've found a lot of knowledgeable people on this forum. I've learned alot and thank all who have helped along the way. That said there will always be idiots online don't let them bring you down.

Pre-2011? Well, 2011 is still only 1/12th of its way along, so the year still has time to redeem itself. I'll agree that things seem to have been a little "off" recently, but I'm willing to trust that it's just been a phase.

The whole "bashing" thread thing was a case in point -- my read on most of those threads was that they were started as jokes which people just took too seriously, some to actually bash for real and some to get offended at. Bad judgment, perhaps, to assume people would all take it in a joking spirit, or maybe just bad taste. I hope everyone can just recover a sense of humor.
