Also, a friend of mine had trouble with his Dunlop straplock and his Levy's strap. Would I be able to install a Schaller on this?

I've never used it, but my former teacher, a real prolific jazz bassist, uses it on all of his electric gigs (which can go for several hours long.) He plays a Lakland 5-string, not sure which model.

I use a 4" padded Levy's leather strap with Dunlop straplocks, and it works great. The straplocks are a little hard to put on when it's new since the leather is stiff. But once it's broken in a bit, theyre super easy to take on and off.

I have one just like it - works great, but mine is not suede on the underside, so it can slide a bit more easily than those with a rougher underside. NICE strap if the bass balances reasonably well!!

My opinion is for you to get a Moody strap.

I have the suede version of that strap. The straplocks are tricky to put on at first but they work. Once the leather breaks in it's a wonderful strap.
