Hi everyone!

Let me get right to the point:
YOU guys play bass, I would like to hear some of that!
So let me invite you to check out http://www.wikiloops.com, theres a ton of free beats to choose from and a bunch of eager guitarists waiting for you to show up and leave some deep notes.

If you took a look at the project, I'd be grateful to all feedback you've got - we went online with wikiloops just a week ago, so I'd be interested in your first impressions!

Thanks in advance and greetings

Seems to me if there are so many other players wanting bass players, then they should be willing to pay for our service.
What do you pay per track?

Sorry I just felt like pretending to be troll.

My instructor has me working on trying to develop my own bass lines as part of my theory lessons; the site seems like a good practice tool for this. I'll definitely give it a try, since there's a number of blues tracks to choose from (I SO want in a blues band!).

hey Mr.Mudd... I'm a bit surprised someone with a primus faible is looking for blues loops ;-)
Thanks for the comment, glad you found it worth recommending!

greetings!

Hah...note the two d's; it's actually an obscure reference to a character from 'Catch 22' (a feeble attempt at cleverness, although I DO love Primus.)

And a belted welcome to the forum!

believe it or not, I just had to google catch 22, never heard of it :-) looks like an interesting read. If I ever get off the wikiloops project, I might try to get a copy!

is a belted welcome the kind where you get whipped with a belt ?! lost on idioms tonight :-)

Very cool site - there are some great tracks to help a beginner like myself.
If I get to the point where my playing doesn't suck, I'll try to contribute something worthwhile.
Thanks for the work.

I suspect he meant to say belated. I further suspect that were whippings in order, he might prefer chains. Could be wrong about either or both of those...

Good luck with Wikiloops, seems like an interesting project.

I just hope this will work like what I'd call hitchhikers-law - if you got a ride, you have to pick up other people hitchhiking to make up for theese helpful hands later ;-)

Be careful waiting for the I-dont-suck-moment, most people I know have either stopped playing or stopped having fun on the way.

As far as wikiloops is concerned, I really hope it will not end up in a "check this, I can play even more notes..."-contest. What I like so much is that many times, the easy tracks are liked best, and who leaves space for others will be rewarded with remixes. So what it comes down to is knowing what your job is when playing a certain instrument and not beeing the all-ego kind of player that has been keeping me from many "real" sessions.
I just put up another two-chord backing-track, me playing guitar, certainly no big masterly skills involved at all, but quite inspiring to improvise on,

which is what I'll spend the rest of the evenin with ;-)

thanks for the belated welcome, starting to feel at home here! Just amazing to see two thousand people online that all seem to have a certain hobby

Nice man, I always had an idea in the back of my head for something like this but never pursued it. I'll definitely give it a look when I get out of work

This is cool!! Awesome idea.

Edit: The site is nice, just looks a tad crude. But good players on there, cool practice for me.
Here's my first bass recording on it:

fun.
