Line 6 XDR 95 Clipping

Sign in to disble this ad
So, I just bought this GAS item from a guy who was selling it because it was his backup wireless and he had lost his job.

Anyway, me and the band mates have noticed that there is a clipping signal sent to the amp whenever the transmitter is turned off and the rack unit is on.

So far, I have not detected any clipping while the tans. and reciev. are both on, but this may be because 95% of the time that they are on like this I am already playing, which would cover up the clip.

But I did a 10 minute test or so where I came to the conslusion that the usual clip is about one minute after initial shutdown of the transmitter pack. Then maybe one more after that within another minute.

Anyone have any ideas?? IS this normal??

I have an X2, but I don't understand your problem. A 'clipping signal' sent to the amp from the wireless, when the transmitter pack is turned off? What does it sound like? Like a big pop?

Yeah, it pops and the pre amp clip light shines for a split second. Really strange. And its only when the reciever is on and the transmitter pack is off.

Mine will pop like that if I don't mute the amp before I power the transmitter off. Its possible the receiver might go to standby (pop!) if it doesn't detect a signal for an extended amount of time.

I don't know much more since I always mute my amp before I do anything with my signal chain.

And with no mute, you will do this with the amp turned on and turned up??? Now you can count on a POP.
