A little appreciation for my instructor

Sign in to disble this ad
About eight months ago I decided to take up bass; I had no background in music. I’m now in a band and creating my own basslines and can get the job done, but a lot of this has to do with my instructor. I’ve been getting lessons from my instructor the whole time. I usually take lessons that are scheduled for one hour, but a lot of the time the lesson will go an hour and a half or two hours because he really wants me to understand what he is showing me; and he never charges me for the extra time. So I want to do something to show my appreciation because I have come a long way and it is in large part because of his generosity.

My instructor has horrible chronic back problems and cannot play without a stand that will hold his bass in playing position. He has an awesome Ken Smith and can’t use it at gigs because it will not fit his stand, so I want to get him a stand that will fit his Ken Smith, but I don’t know where to start. Can any of you point me in the direction of a good stand that will hold his bass in playing position?

Thanks
