r.i.p.

he was really something on drums. i dug their sound. the drummer in my blues band is a big admirer of richie. i think he knows the family (richie is from this town i live in: ames, ia), and would give us updates on his failing health when he could get them. its sad, but what a career he had.

RIP Ritchie.

I caught LF live back in '88 when they made their comeback. I remember being very impressed with his oh so solid drumming.

Absolutely one of the greats, his playing defined the sound of Little Feat. I saw him many times starting in the mid-70's, easily one of my favorite drummers.
Fly on Richie................

I walked out of a Little Feat concert back in the day.

I was really into George Thorogood at the time and he was opening for Little Feat. I'd never really heard of Little Feat and after Thorogood's straight ahead blues/rock, the bizarre mixture of rock, country, latin, and funk was just too much. Me and my friends walked.

Years later, I came to appreciate the bizarre mixture of styles and have been kicking myself ever since.

RIP!

ElGecko- ain't it always like that? I mean you realize someone you've seen, years ago, is HUGELY influential in the big picture, but one of the founding members just *left the building?*
On topic- RIP
