A little Latin translation!

Let's see who is the first person on Talkbass who can translate the piece of Latin on my signature at the bottom. Nothing too hard to do really!

PS: NO CHEATING!!!! Don't just look the poem up and copy/paste. IT MUST BE YOUR WORK ENTIRELY!!!!

Hahahaha, I'm gonna study that poem next week in AP Latin.

What does he know to go to that place tomorrow something something... mumble mumble.

Yeah, A's in Latin every year... and that's what I have to show for it.

Okay, I had eight years of Latin at school, so I'll play:

"Who knows if the gods above will add a tomorrow to the present tally of days?"

Not a very poetic translation, but it makes sense.

EDIT: Anyone who studied Latin will have read some Horace, but I didn't remember that one. It's been, um, 40 years...

What you have is of course literally correct, but less literally, you could also think of it as something like "Art lasts, life doesn't."

That is much better. Very seldom will a literal translation capture the gist of what's being said.
