| Long-term damage from hanging stand?

My new luthier did a great job on my j-bass and before I left, he suggested I not store it on a hanging stand because it will slowly cause the top frets to loosen. He uses a hanging stand for gigs but does not keep his bass on a hanging stand if it will sit there for days.
Like me, he prefers a hanging stand because it seems more stable. Don't want to damage my bass.
Anyone else heard of this? Thoughts? |
