Looking for a bass expert or two...

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi all.

MusicPlayers.com, the online magazine for serious musicians, is looking for a few new regular contributors to our Bass section, possibly someone to become the Bass section editor.

If you or a bassist you know might be interested, please have them contact me.

To write for us, a bassist must be:
1. Pro-caliber player with experience, maybe a few indie CDs recorded in the past, session work, regularly gigging for a career, etc.
2. Owns pro gear and KNOWS pro gear.
3. Knows a lot about equipment, players, gear that well-known pros are using, etc.
4. Might be an instructor, but schooled in theory isn't a requirement.
5. Basically, the person other bassists turn to for advice.
6. Strong writing skills.

This player is probably in the 24-50 age range and makes enough money that they don't "GAS" over gear they want -- they get the tools they need to be successful with their bass.

Thanks for your consideration. Time to nominate your favorite TalkBass posters, perhaps! :-)

Scott

Well, there is this one guy who was writing a book that comes
to mind, so definitely he is strong on #6. Very impressive writer.

I dont know his real name but he posts occassionally under
the moniker 'the qintar'.

Fairlawn huh?

My Mom grew up on Saddle River Road a block or 2 from the Saddlebrook border.

Have you spoke with Paul (Talkbass.com's owner) yet? He might want this run past him.

I just read through the Robin Trower write up... I just joined a power trio somewhat modeled after his stuff.

You posted your Benavente 51 P over there. Shame on You!
For a bunch of guitar players. Don't you feel dirty?

Actually, why don't you do it since the qintar is not around.

I nominate James Hart. He is perfect for the job!

Any seconds?

hey man.

Let me be the first to nominate Stew McKinsey. He's a good friend of mine, and a MONSTER bass player.

Secondly, Yves Carbonne comes to mind. He's from France though. I assume you want someone fluent in English (mind you, Yves is very good)

but, if you'd like, PM me and i'll talk to Stew about it!

Thanks

I'd jump at the chance, but alas I'm a lowly music student.
