Looking for Dark, Ambient Music

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm really into... Wait for it... Dark and ambient music. XD I'd like to know the names of groups that make darker, more bleak music (I'm not a depressing guy to be around, I swear!). I'm a fan of most types of metal (Folk, Death, Black, Thrash, Doom/Gothic, etc...), classical music (with a choir! I'm thinking of seeing if Bethesda will release the soundtrack for Skyrim... Forget the game. XD), and jazz. Throw me some names!

Look up 'Boat Woman Song' by Can off of their Canaxis album. Youtube has the full version in good quality, it's really long and shifts and phases throughout. Guess they made it somewhere in the sixties without all the high tec stuff of now. They used Vietnamese chants as samples taped from a radio frequency they came across while scanning. They cut, sliced and pasted those tapes into some pretty hypnotic stuff. Some pretty awesome bass lines in there too. Used to listen to it in my friends backyard in summertime at night. Do yourself a favor, listen to it and close your eyes.
