Looking for a few particular things in TB, help me out!

Hey fellow TBers, I am looking for a few things that I can't seem to find on the search function and I was hoping if you could help.

1. A thread, I can't remember the exact title, but it was along the lines of "Tips you wish you knew when you started playing"

2. A drum machine download link. The software is a small window, grey in colour and has simple controls to add drum parts into the beat (eg, hi hat etcetc). I recall it is a small file, not big in size.

to Freaky Fender, that's not it, think Windows 95 kinda grey. The program's rectangular I think.

to Stumbo, thanks dude! although I thought the "if only I knew" thread was more of a personal practicing thing instead of a band thing.
