Looking for good quality gig bag..

Sign in to disble this ad
..under $100.00.

I recently purchased a new (black) Roadrunner deluxe bag and it seems to be constructed poorly compared to the older black and red versions. Zippers seem cheaper, the material appears to be of a lesser grade and it feels flimsy. We'll see how it stands up to the test of time.

Back to my question. Which bag out their new for sale is quality built under 100 bennies?

Contact APINTL, distributors of Brubaker Brute Series basses and PROrockgear bags. I have two of the gig bags in rotation now, and they are similar to early Roadrunner quality and come with a neck support like the MONO gig bags have. So far, I'm good with them.

Yes, I'm an endorsee. But I really do like the bags and they work as well if not better and I'm sure they come in at your pricetag.

Warwick Rockbags are the best I've used. Won't beat it for the price.

might be cheaper here:
ROCKBAG PREMIUM LINE GIGBAG FOR ELECTRIC BASS GUITAR (RBPG-BASS) - Elderly Instruments

mmbongo, what does that measure internally?
my the headstock shape of the valenti makes them 47" long, and they don't fit in a lot of things, including my older warwick bag.

Nice find..and there you go!

I can measure mine when I get home, none of my basses are near that long

I'd appreciate it; I can't find internal dimensions online.

Those two deal might end up being similar-ish, depending what the second vendor charges for shipping. The ebay vendor ships free.

The end of the Valenti headstock hangs out of my current Rockbag by an inch or so

I've been eyeballing this one as well:
Universal Shaped Electric Bass Soft Case by SKB Cases

SKB 1SKB-SCFB4
I started a thread on them. Folks seem to like them well enough, but again, not sure if it's internally big enough for my needs.

I have the SKB universal and it's great. I was caught in a sudden torrential downpour with it (it was in the open cab of my trunk, because the amp was in the driver's seat) and the thing was literally floating in water. Got to the gig, and my jazz bass was perfectly dry--even the outside compartment! By the time I headed home, the bag was dry too. I also like the Wolfpak, whuich has more storage space internally and suits most P and J shaped instruments.

I'd vote for the RockBag too. It's excellent and fairly inexpensive!

The wolfpac looks nice enough, but I want something teardrop shaped, and "backpackable."

WARWICK ROCKBAG PREMIUM ELECTRIC BASS GUITAR GIGBAG | eBay
*This buyer has very poor ebay feedback. Several folks ordered the Premium Rockbag from him and apparently never received one.

I'm looking elsewhere, but thanks for the info.

edit-I don't believe these are available for sale anywhere, besides the above ebay link.

Anyone have a reliable source for one?

What about the TKL Zero Gravity cases that Nino ships his new basses in? Don't know if you can wear them backpack style though.

"The G&L bags are pretty nice."

Yep, G&L bags that come with the Tributes are pretty good. Also, I picked up a Profile PRBB906-GR for cheap on Amazon. Very impressed with the quality, especially for the price.

Can vouch for the Premium Rockbag, mine is 10 years old (older design) and its still going strong.

Mono is awesome but awesomely expensive too.

Any reason not to get a hard-shell case?

my experience with the Premium Rockbag has been less than fantastic. Bought one about a year back, and the material on the handle is already worn through...

have tried to contact Warwick customer service, but have had no response yet...

would certainly have expected it to wear better than it has in such frequently used areas.
