Looking for a great Zep cover suggestion....

Sign in to disble this ad
My band landed a show at a really nice local joint as part of an all-day "zep tribute" gimmick. We get to do 3 songs, and have already picked two, and have them down cold: Immigrant Song, and South Bound Suarez.

We're looking for a 3rd, but the rest of the group keeps coming up with seriously lame suggestions. To complicate matters, we were one of the last bands to get the nod, and everyone else is already covering most of the better-known catalogue.

That's fine by me, as i'd rather do something else a little obscure. So, here's asking for suggestions....for the record, we're a five piece: keys, guit, drums, vox, me.

South Bound Suarez? Wow, there's a Zep tune I had practically forgotten about, nice choice!

For your third, When the Levee Breaks it is!

Or maybe... Custard Pie!

My "all-time-favorite" Led Zep song . . .

"THE CRUNGE"

James Brown on steroids in 5/4 time (except for the bridge)!

"Now where's that confounded bridge?"

With keys in the band do "Fool In The Rain." One of my favorites.

I'd love to hear somebody cover Heartbreaker/Living Loving Maid (you HAVE to play both of course). Awesome songs.

It's gotta be Trampled Underfoot. The song that first convinced me Led Zeppelin may not be that bad after all (I then bought all their albums and now have certain periods going years without listening to them before spending a day listening to everything they ever did.)

Seriously, that song rules.

I give another vote to "Fool In The Rain" by the merits of:

- John Bonham's shuffle groove, which inspired Jeff Porcaro to create his drum part for "Rosanna".

- John Paul Jones' attempt at Salsa!
