Looking for opinions on how to piece together a new amp.

Ok, all my amplification devices are now sold and the only amp I have as of right now is the Peavey TKO75 1x15 combo. This means I'm going to be putting together a new rig.

What I want is a 1x15 cab, preamp, power amp, and effects processor. Then down the road I'll add either a couple of 2x10 cabs or a 4x10 cab to it.

I was on the phone with a good friend and he suggested that I get another Gt10-B or something similar. His logic is that I have the Peavey and won't need the cab, pre/power amp just yet.

In your opinion's what would be the best way to go about piecing together a new rig? I'm not interested in brand names so they are nada importante because I already have a very good idea of what I am going with as far as that is concerned. I am only interested in the order of how I should piece this rig together.

The order?

Unless I'm missing something, my thinking is Preamp, power amp and cab in any order. Each item on it's own is useless until you have all three. Effects, just like when using any amp can be added later.

Either that or follow you're friends advice if effects are a crucial part of your style. My only question would be if you plan on playing out and if the Peavey would be gig worthy.

Thats exactly what I thought about the stuff being useless on its own.

Yeah the Peavey's gig worthy. The effects aren't that crucial to my tone, I used the gt10b for the eq capabilities and just enough effects to fatten up my tone a bit more.

If the Peavey has the capability you could always get the cab first.
