Looking for suggestions

Sign in to disble this ad
Putting a new band together and I need some ideas for great uptempo dancing tunes. Want to stay away from the same old, same old Sweet Home, Johnny B stuff.

Looking at David Lindley's ElRayo-X, ska party music.

And suggested artists, either current or from the past, that could bring fresh music to me?

Thanks

I've seen David Lindley play live a couple of times, and he is unlike anybody else. I can't think of anyone who remotely resembles him. Mr. Dave is one of a kind.

Do tired old *standards* in a ska vein. Heard of Dread Zeppelin? More reggae than ska, but still an example of genre-bending(blending?).

Oh my...Dread Zeppelin with Torte Elvis. How could I forget?

Thanks for that. Sittin here smiling.

The guy I'm working with does a solo guitar thing in pubs, along with pre recorded tracks. He does a great reaggae version of Still the One by Shania Twain. Has a fun ska version of American Pie that works well.

I think we'll be doing our own arrangements as suggested. Still, good to get input from you all.

Thanks
