Los Angeles Death Metal A little rant

Sign in to disble this ad
Seriously what has happened to it ? All I want to do is play some decent death metal in LA but it seems that its 1 Over ran by high school kids thinking its cool 2 people in my age group only want to play "Real" death metal or 3 its over technicality that makes up for lack of real skill

God is all hope lost ??? Can I find a band willing to make good riffs with a combination of some technicality that people in my age group want to play or is this a sign saying get the hell out why I still can ?

los angeles used to be the promised land for musicians, but everything died many years ago. things like bands, clubs, record stores, radio station etc. now you have better chance to make it big in places like alaska.

Its all about location. If I lived in Ohio, I'd want to be in a Death Metal band too.

Keep looking. I've got friends in the LA death metal scene (that phrase sounds wierd to someone my age), and they don't sound like the reincarnation of Deicide or Cynic, either one. People are out there. It took my friends a few years to put the right people together, but they did it.

My old drummer is pretty into opeth, and he's also one of the most talented musician's I've ever seen. Y'all should start a band!

Edit: He's a budding session drummer in LA.
