Magnetic "Snap Jack" instrument cables. Good?

I was checking out this rig rundown with Victor Wooten and now I'm intrigued by his magnetic instrument cable. He calls it a Snap Jack. Anyone else seen this?

I think I'd like to try it, but...one major drawback. With an active bass, leaving that plug in the guitar is still going to suck down your battery. And leaving that plug in seems like half the value of the thing, no?

Hey Scott they are the best I love them so easy to use and the signal is as strong as a regular cable

And so the benefit to you is, what? Silent plug-ins and plug-outs? Easy guitar switching?

I have active basses and I have to pull the plug out just like an ordinary cable but I can switch between eight basses in seconds if you get one I have a couple extra plugs I can give you I always grab them when I see them on eBay I won't use anything else to switch basses there is no pop nothing.

I originally was using a A/B box to switch between just two different basses now I can snap and unsnap in seconds I'm surprised they aren't more popular.

They make two different types ones for side plugs and top plugs it's one product that works as advertised I'm glad you brought them up.

They have a pedalboard kit that's looks very cool but I think the ends are too thick for my board.

Well I've learned something new! Maybe I should get one and try it. I'm sad, though, that I can't just leave it plugged in and have it not drain my battery. I could just leave it in for EVAR!! I guess you can't have everything.
