Marshall JVM or TSL 122?

So my lead guitarist is a recent Marshall convert from Vox (a great move, IMO), and is trying to decide on a used TSL 122 combo with road case for $800 or a new JVM combo for about $1,500. I think he should get the JVM because that's what he really wants, even though it's twice as much coin. (Buy once, cry once.)

We went to the guy's house tonight to try out the TSL, and that mother is LOUD (100 watts).

Any informed opinions?
