I saw this in the paper today and was sad to hear...:

I remember seeing him play with the Oscar Peterson trio on British TV (with Nils Pederson on Bass) back in the 70's and about 10 years ago saw him live with Ronnie Scott's band at the Broadgate Arena in the City of London - what a player!!
