A friend of mine was on his way from south Jeresy to Drexel University that night and saw the smoke and flames from the 30th street exit of the Schuylkill Expressway. Now THAT'S a fire! |
Yeah, it was ridiculous! It started in an adjacent construction site and the flames were so intense that the sheer heat caused fires to erupt in the next occupied building and then quickly spread. A good friend of mine lived there, but she was lucky that she was in one of the buildings with minimal to no damage. She'll be able to get in there soon to assess her losses, but there should be no fire damage. Possible water damage if they had to douse the building as a precaution, but hopefully her losses are at a minimum.
It's amazing that there were no casualties...lucky it was early in the evening when people were still at work otherwise it would have been even more of a disaster!
